As Meahcore borrowed the ideas from Reticulum and reduced them for radio only I would like to see how a larger Reticulum radio mesh performs. I think we have to wait that microRwticulum supports more common boards and lowers the entry barrier in general.

Not all the firmware is. There are some proprietary firmware for things like the T-Deck. The "community" firmware is open, but any other firmware may not be.
