My #WashingMachine (a #Bosch) has taken to drastically cutting short some parts of its cycle. This leaves the clothes in it very, very wet, and means that I have to keep running the "spin" cycle many, many times.

I just started such a spin cycle, and it did pretty much nothing for about a minute while I stood next to it, and the "time left" dropped from 13 minutes to 4 minutes. It also doesn't pump water out properly -- I have to drain the sump manually (when it manages to spin any water out)

Anyone know what might be wrong, or how to fix it? The thing's only 2 years old. This is ridiculous. Why can't it report on *why* it's skipping 75% of its programme? There's no error code shown, and this is clearly a major error. #UXFail

I've just spent several hours trying to get a Brother QL-500 label printer working with Linux. I have failed. Fuck all #printers .

It's not even working with the configuration I managed to get working (with support from the driver authors) last time I tried using this damn thing.

If you go a little further, the continual massaging goes down to the molecular level, which is where the chemistry happens, and (a) it can't happen if it doesn't get shaken up enough, and (b) it goes all wrong (molecules falling to pieces, or getting knocked into the wrong shapes) if it gets shaken up too much. At that point, it starts making a bit more sense.
