What happens when AI agents can pay, transact and act autonomously using Bitcoin?

We’re excited to welcome Roland Bewick to Sovereignty Summit 2027.

Roland is a builder at @Alby and the development lead for Alby Hub, Alby’s self-custodial, next-generation Lightning wallet. His work also spans developer SDKs and agent-first tools for the Bitcoin Lightning Network.

A two-time BOLT FUN Lightning hackathon winner, Roland has worked on projects including Bitcoin Connect and Lightsats, and was the first in the world to create an OpenClaw that could autonomously spawn a child agent by paying for services with Bitcoin.

His work sits right at the intersection of Bitcoin, Lightning, AI and sovereign computing, exploring what becomes possible when digital agents can interact with open monetary networks without relying on traditional payment rails.

At Sovereignty Summit, Roland will bring a builder’s perspective to the Technology & Innovation pillar, exploring where Lightning, self-custody and agent-first technology are heading next.
