I’m not saying I’ve never seen anything useful done with generative AI. But I definitely have not seen generative AI produce anything cool or useful enough to justify increasing the number of gas turbines in use.

I know people have other reasons for disliking archive.is, but for me the breaking point was the breathtaking hypocrisy of the service disabling the browser’s reader mode and blocking read-it-later services like Instapaper.
