Most other people I meet have opinions that aren't threatened by someone else having another.

A leftist cannot stand anyone that doesn't parrot their narrative. A freedom maximalist questions everyone's agenda, and so sees right through the leftist worldview.

Uncompromising ideological people certain of their views breed hate, religious or otherwise.

Then again, in my experience the people breeding hate are usually left leaning people, who claim they're not religious, but have really just invented their own version of religion, so in that sense your statement is correct anyway.
