@nprofile1q... I actually blame everything on Bill Gates myself. His was the first really evil squash-everyone-and-take-all-the-money company, the rest have followed the model.

The recent spate of bullshit business models I think is due to the availability of investment apps which give access to the stock markets to people who just don't have a clue; these are the real customers (products) of the all-money grabbers.

It maybe gets me to thinking that a futuristic language might involve writing two programs side by side: one which does the thing and runs at run time, and one which tells the compiler if the first is doing something else, which is executed at compile time. But then I wonder if these two would necessarily have to be different languages, in which case the problem doesn't really go away...
