Read this interesting article over my morning coffee. It argues that the Bitcoin protocol has been captured to a large extent by institutions which, Bitcoin was designed to oppose. Going totally...
The article misses an important point of "The Sovereign Individual" book cited all along the article. Cryptography and permissionless digital currency is not meant to dismantle the state, it doesn't require much to understand this is not enough and not even the point.
The point is to either: leave under the radar to evade a coercisive state OR protect yourself as an individual while the state becomes authoritarian until it fails.
Authority and state violence is the response of a failing state which has always been in history an ephemeral phase of the decline.
Therefore I use Bitcoin and cryptography not to dismantle the state as it is doing it by itself but to protect myself until the state fails.
It's more a question of time preference in my opinion.
