No, Bpedo is the same play. The only differences are 1) they don't agree with the fundamental purpose of BItcoin (at least Bcash was aligned in that!), and 2) they're attacking Bitcoin to suppress it.

I don't want to phone home ever - no companion app or registration what so ever. I only point my software watch only to my own node over tor. No third party gets my xpub.

I want airgap by default. personal preference is SD card from the same manufacturer as hardware wallet.

I want a keyboard physical. fuck scrollowing with buttons. It's passphrase (25th word) from now on. A minimum of eight English words selected randomly for the passphrase so keyboard please.

Dicerolls for seed creation option. I am exactly the type of person that will not fuck it up.

I want someone whith high integrity to save the coldcardq like Orange juice @Lyn Alden @Jeff Booth the original founders need to go. I didn't fully appreciate the coldcardQ until I had to replace it.

if it's really multi vendor multi sig from now on its game over for self custody. The vast majority of people just aren't going to do it. Personally speaking 3rd party anything is a non starter for me.

I am someone who runs their own node Ubuntu headless server. My mobile and desk top watch only wallets point to my own node over tor. I am actively engaged in the learning process of Bitcoin and have been for years now. I bet a lot of the coldcard users are on a similar path as me.

My family completely understood the coldcard set up. if something happens to me they can start from steel and get the stack. We practice this regularly. f I'm pushed into multisig my family could do it but they are going to push to just ETF instead. Multiple steel backups? They are going to pass. I'm not interested in adding a 3rd party like cassa, ancerwatch or unchained. if my family goes 3p route it's going to be ETF and that makes me sad.

I'm really not liking any of the alternatives hardware wallets I'm seeing.

this sucks.

What I liked about the Coldcard Q:

1) it never phoned home (no companion app no registration)

2) Airgap by default.y preference was SD card for signatures.

3) keyboard for passphrase (N0T password, a passphrase - 8 words min) fuck scrolling with two buttons to type words.

4) People I listened to in the space highly recommended it. I won't make this mistake again. if you offer a "discount code" I'm not going to take you seriously.

5) Dice roll ability - I didn't do this pre coldcard disaster. I see this as critical now . I'm capable of doing it right.

Serious question, can coldcard be saved? The founders have to go. What if someone with high integrity got business like @Jeff Booth
