Unfortunately relevant article for those interested. Notably I didn’t see any air defense in the clips I saw so that makes me think we had help. Reminder that Iraq was not magically free and stable after we caught Saddam. As for ‘why’ I think it is more than just ‘oil’ , maybe to punish Russia or to ‘keep away’ from China. I know the Israel angle but I feel like that is machado just being a snake and recognizing who runs the US rather than a reason for the attack.

What a missed opportunity!

People forget WHY we trained so hard on the DUTY to refuse illegal orders. It largely came about after the massacre at My Lai, where ‘good boys’ followed orders that made them monsters. The duty to refuse illegal orders not only protects our ‘adversary’ but America as a whole. We must be Good if we wish to maintain relevance on the global stage, might alone will not prevail. Do not commit evil for the ‘good of America’ it is a trap that will doom us all.
