Boltz - Non-Custodial Bitcoin Bridge · 1w
Can you share (via DM) the prompt and path your agent took? You are not the first and we'd love to guide agents to do the right thing but without knowing where these enter and interact with Boltz it's...

Probably it would help a lot if you would provide a SKILL.md for your service that instructs agents to backup the swap info & rescue keys and use APIs. Here's a good example:

https://lnvps.net/SKILL.md

That could work exceptionally well together with NWC, where agents could use boltz internally to pay to onchain addresses with lightning balances.

A facilitator is not mandatory in x402 either, so compatibility is not an issue. However, it may have value in terms of making integration easier.

Oh, okay 👍 Do you have any input on the flow of verify / settle that usually is used with x402 and how that works different with lightning?

The facilitator is supposed to only settle the transaction after the order is successfully fulfilled.

Wouldn’t it make sense to use the payment hash or the invoice itself for verification instead of relying on the preimage? It would require querying the node, but it would simplify the client-side logic. In my view, that makes the design more AI-friendly and differentiates it from L402. I can see...

I had similar thoughts. It's not necessarily useful for the flow, but maybe the "compatibility" with x402 and being able to get bitcoin into the hands of x402 folks maybe?

Analyzed some data from Coinbase CDP x402 discovery API:

Vibe-coded a boltz.exchange script that didn't save the swap info. It's all good now, really good system with Alby Hub NWC where my agent can pay Bitcoin invoices through boltz

Yes, the merchant implements it. For on-chain payments, a facilitator makes a lot of sense since someone needs to handle submission and confirmation on-chain. But with Lightning being inherently peer-to-peer, I’m not sure a facilitator adds much value. Payment verification can already be handled...

I just implemented the x402 flow itself. I’m not running a facilitator — I’m using the Coinos API for payment verification.

It was originally included in AP2, but then x402 was created and then coinbase kinda stopped accepting PRs and seems focused entirely on USDC…not sure it’s worth bothering with vs just using L402.

They aren't. Agents can use lightning.
