I think there are real differences in how people conceptualise play and thus differences in what different people consider supportive and evocative.

I don't think that I have ever forgiven GURPS for the time we were going to plays GURPS Vampire and it took us two sessions to create characters and then the GM fell down a hole and we never got to actually play.

Obviously, I can't blame GURPS for the GM for falling down a hole.
