This is so Microsoft on so many levels.
Imagine buying Microsoft Office 2019 for your Mac. Perpetual licence. Just a good ol' software in a box (except without a box, I guess, times are digital).
"It's so great to own a real software and not a subscription", you think to yourself.
Now Microsoft basically says: "I'll do ya one better, pal. Now your Office 2019 will work in read-only mode. Hope you wrote everything you needed. Get a subscription already".
I didn't know you can do that. Sell a software and then just brick it with a proper announcement like it's the most natural thing to do.

Turns out, Google Chrome silently installs 4GB Google Nano LLM model on every device for its AI features. Without permission. By default.

I couldn't care less for carbon footprint, but 4GB of bandwidth is the thing I will most certainly notice, because with my ISP it would take an hour or two on good days to download.
And they drop it on every single device using Chrome. Unless you explicitly disable it in chrome://flags

@nprofile1q... No one really knows why they did this stupid move. Because it applies only to games bought after March 2026 and DOES NOT apply to any physical media.
