Richard definitely could write well in a technical sense. He'd have been good if he could shift gears into the literary sense, which isn't easy.

Same. Not in appearance, but he was otherwise much like my ex before hubs.
Sometimes they can't be saved, but there's an underlying idealism to their "broken" a few of us can see.
Richard was actually a decent looking dude. Tall and strong looking. I think he could have done a lot better with women if he wasn't raging all the time.

He was an everyone disrespecter on a bad day, lol, but he was never super convincing about his woman schtick, imo.
Overly sensitive, heart broke one too many times... familiar "chauvinist" story.
I had a soft spot for Richard. A lot of people thought he was too broken, but I thought he could be salvaged, and maybe he could have been if he had lived. He was brilliant in a misanthropic sort of way.

Not sure what to make of that considering that Richard was a world class woman disrespecter. I'm not really like that. With me it's just the standard love/hate, but slightly more love perspective that most men have towards women.
