Yesterday I had a hack attempt Where someone called saying they were with one of my bitcoin wallets and that there was some suspicious activity they needed to clarify. Over the weekend That same Wallet sent a notification asking if I was trying to change my phone number or something and I said no. So, it seemed kind of legit… they were very educated and they talked for a while and told me where the login attempt was, in another country, and that they were using a different email address which was actually a former employer address of mine. They gave me a ticket number and asked me to type it in with the Wallet domain name afterwards and it took me to a site that looked like that wallet’s site. It asked me about 3 yes / no questions about the login attempt and then it asked me for a 12 words seed phrase to detach my wallet just in case something happens… I kind of already figured something was up but that was when I ended the call and then they called back telling me that if I don’t unhook that wallet they would not be liable for any loss.
So I hung up again and of course sent an email to the helpdesk for that Wallet and verified that it was in fact a hack attempt. They are getting better and better, so be wary!
Thanks for everything you do to educate everyone! 🙏🙏🙏
