Sad to see @Bitrefill was hacked. I was thinking of topping up my account with $2k so I can get gift cards faster; it felt weird waiting ~10min at Burger King for my gift card to arrive. Fortunately I didn't make that mistake. I think my account had ~$2 (from cash back).

Thousands of nodes around the world are your backups. When you're oggline, the nodes and miners aren't. You can literraly dissappear, move yo another country, lose your computer to a flood, change your identity, and your bitcoin will be exactly where you left them. Now that's perfect money.

Lightning still requires trusting a single point of failure: someone that is going to run channels honestly and hope their database doesn't get corrupted.

Bitcoins ledger is permanent backed by thousands of layers of encryption and isbackeduop on thousands of nodes around the world (including your own if you host it).
