@nprofile1q... Strangely like the course I once did on inclusion in education. Which was in a very long thin room, with echoey white floors shiny walls and bright lights. No one with any kind of vision or hearing problem had a chance.

From outside the USA I get an impression that MAGA’s appeal was & remains the promise to turn the clock back to some (mostly imaginary) time when America’s (white) men were guaranteed jobs in big industries that were selling big shiny stuff to the world. They dug coal, bashed metal etc Jobs that don’t exist in a mechanised digital world. In industries that have changed with huge investment that the US wasn’t wanting to make anymore because bean counters want short term profits..

@nprofile1q... So your government is killing (apart from its citizens) its medical industry, it’s renewables industry and its motor industry. The latter two already pretty much swallowed by China. Wow!

In the rag trade He had a long string of stories about owners who’d keep aging unreliable machinery running even when it meant losing production and contracts. Of unit prices deliberately kept too high because they’d rather make £20 profit on each of 1000 units than £15 profit on each of 10000. They thought they were being robbed when customers wanted lower unit cost for higher volume. So they’d lose the contract.

@nprofile1q... But also add UK managements who thought that investment = taking money out of their pockets. So under invested industries making outdated products with unreliable machinery and undertrained staff.

@nprofile1q... They used to be highly regulated here. But the industry lobbyists managed to get the rules lifted. And Bingo sites owned by big offshore casino companies are advertising everywhere. This is not the traditional UK jolly seaside Bingo, though they try to present themselves as “fun”. They are heavy duty gambling games.
