We're well into spring now and I'm enjoying the change of season. The storm birds (Eastern Koel) are returning from their migration north for winter, it's now light for part of my after-work walk, and there's lots of colour on the plants and trees.

I also saw two Brush Turkeys tonight, which isn't uncommon, but it was unusual to see them closer to town.

Mild take for the day: All videos players (looking at you YouTube) should have a waveform on the timeline to allow easier skipping to specific parts where the audio track noticeably changes. As seen here in Amberol, which is music player, but the idea is the same.

It kinda weird that tiny plastic stickers get put on every individual supermarket apple (at least here in Australia). Once upon a time they served a useful purpose of identifying the variety for the cashier. They also sometimes helpfully included the 4-digit PLU (price lookup number) the cashier had to type to ring them up (can you tell I worked at supermarket in my youth).

This one however is solely branding. It has "redland australia" on it and a QR that just goes to their website. Strange.

Why is Discourse so bad at counting. "(1)" on items happens regularly, but when clicked there's nothing there. Hard refresh fixes it (the unread count goes away).

I now have a capybara in Fields of Mistria. This is good.

We're on our way to Airlie Beach for a couple of weeks. Today we drove from home to Calliope. We checked in on the big fig in Miriam Vale, and visited the lovely beachside town of Tannum Sands along the way.

Ever see a #Rust compiler warning with a suggested fix and wish the compiler would do it for you? Well, good news! `cargo fix`—built into Cargo can do that.

The first screenshot shows a warning about elided lifetimes. The second screenshot shows the code after running `cargo fix`. It has applied the suggestion.

`cargo fix` is conservative, so you will usually need one of the `--allow` options to allow it make change. In my case I had all modified code staged in `git`, so used `--allow-staged`.

This looks so beautiful. It would be neat if the output of tools like this and Tiny Glade had a game play element, so you could play a game in the world you created afterwards.
