I don't want anyone on the Fediverse getting a big head but

In the past few weeks, every Saturday, people are boosting posts that use the SettlerSaturday hashtag.

And other posts that use Indigenous hashtags keep getting revived, at random times.

I haven't seen this level of random support for (my) Indigenous posts on the Fediverse since like, 2021.

And it's pretty cool, after a few years of feeling like I was shouting into the void, like the social communities around me I can access are starting to get a little more curious and exploratory again, after a (slightly) justifiable period of fear-induced recalcitrance.

It's Indigenous Peoples Day!

I was all stressed about performing as a good native person on this day, but woke up to see that folk have been engaging with this thread, so I'm just going to boost it!

Because I advocate so strongly for indigenous autonomy and sovereignty, I've basically argued myself out of any sort of normal job or life, and thus rely entirely on mutual aid!

I can't share about it yet, but recently money has been going to some COOL little projects up here in around the northern Great Lakes!

The federal agents illegally occupying the region who are only not facing resistance from the local government because it was a literal blitzkrieg are now fortifying the building they've seized, into which they are abducting us, with concrete barricades, steel fencing, and razor wire.

...it feels surreal writing it. Like it's sci-fi. But I think it's just beyond horrifying and surreal is the most my body can do.
