Ah, the decisions we have to make in this corporatised world we live in. Today I realised that if I spend more than $100 on a grocery shop - and I almost always do - I can get it delivered for just u...

I tried something like this but found that for me personally it didn't really work. I found that while I did indeed save driving time, that finding everything on the website took me more time than visually scanning products in the aisles. I was also able to make substitutions far more efficiently in person than by texting back and forth with a stranger doing my shopping for me.

I still like the idea of providing more employment for someone else so I can spend more time on things that are my passion / expertise. Thus far though it just cost me more money *and* time.

Question for #ADHD folks, from someone who isn’t. What’s the best way to ask someone who is ADHD for a favor or to do a task, without being naggy about it.

@nprofile1q...

Firstly many ADHD people have trouble with transitioning from one thing to the next, so when someone comes and basically asks if they can do something different now, there's resistance. Asking if it can be done at the end of a specific chunk of what they're doing (eg end of the episode they're watching, level of the game they're playing, chapter they're reading) gives a heads up so they mentally have time to prep for the coming transition.

Second, many ADHD people will people please, but have rejection sensitivity, so long term heaping on thanks for small successes can be more effective than criticism for not doing something, which leads to shutdown.

Last, visual, physical reminders tend to work better than verbal ones as ADHD'ers are often environment sensitive.
