@nprofile1q... Fwiw a lot of people watch (more or less obscure) YouTube channels just for seeing people do interesting stuff.

Like I sometimes get mesmerized by watch repair or singing technique videos despite never wanting to do either myself; it's nice to see people good at what they're doing being excited about stuff.

My biggest takeaway from “LLMs are useful for some aspects of writing software, and lots of people like it” is still that the existing tools we made for writing software are bad.

The last 20 years were spent on ever more complex layer cakes of frameworks, humongous IDEs and more new and “improved” programming languages that I can count—yet many programmers prefer a chatbot over them.

So for companies AI doesn’t improve productivity but you have to fire people to be able to afford paying for it and you need to give it your proprietary processes, computer code and also your customer’s data—
