Cramer's a physicist, probably retired now, so that made it easier for me to read as a physicist.

Some stuff about the SSC and CERN made me think of it based on what you just said.

Plus, the favorable mention of Clifford Algebras at the end warmed the cold, cold heart of this old theorist.

He has another novel called _Twistor_ which is pretty good, too.

Yesterday I also had some thoughts on the heat crisis in western Europe, how long a human w/o special equipment can survive in high wet-bulb temperatures, and some disappointing reactions in the US.

So why does the C12/C13 abundance ratio go up with time, given that both isotopes are stable?

It *looks* like there should be some very slow decay of C13 that would alter it, and provide a clock. But AFAIK C13 is stable.

(Also, in a couple places they seem to have confused C12/C13 vs C13/C12? Or maybe it's just because they're describing things in words instead of a simple equation.)
