This is interesting, because I was never hit by a car when I lived in Reading (and I used to have to cycle on the A4 to get to work unless I wanted to risk death by SUV in/around Tilehurst during the school run), but I've been hit 4 times since moving to Basingstoke.

I suspect it's because there are far more cyclists in Reading than in Basingstoke.
