Yes, we had five out with them and are now down to two. No fencing right now, but if this doesn't get better I guess we may have to change that 😩

We only have a small flock of 12 at the moment on 25sqm that moves every couple of months. Easy to fence but it means we don’t have to worry about them. Guessing yours is much bigger? I’ve heard from others that once you have a predator they keep coming back.

Yes, that seems to be the case. Now that whatever it is has discovered our chickens, it just keeps coming back for more. I don't want to add any more to our flock until we take care of it, but i can never see what it even is that we're dealing with. We had about 50 and are now down to 24 😣 sigh.....

Ah shit day predators, difficult one. We’ve seen a fox snatching neighbours chickens but only ever at night. You have a cockerel? They can be a good deterrent but they usually sacrifice themselves. Ours are free range in the orchard, not enough cover for a predator, with a 120cm fence.
