Yeah the alabasta arc was so obviously inspired by the Arab spring. The whole show is criminal anarchists saving people from problems partially or completely caused by the government. And the pirates are all individualists chasing glory and riches.

I often wonder if when humans started relying on agriculture for sustenance if then our inbuilt drive to kill as apex predators was transmuted into violent tendencies toward our own species.

Interesting take. We needed to find ways to get along to survive in the tribe so violence toward each other was deadly. As a farmer, I don’t need to rely on many others. In fact, too many others becomes problematic as theft becomes more of a problem. The issue is that we were sort of forced into farming as a lot of the animals we hunted went extinct. Idk if the absence of hunting is the cause though. It could just simply be that our ancestors had no reason to hoard the meat from a hunt because it’ll go bad and you had no way to preserve the food.

Idk how far you are in the show but the poneglyphs are supposed to reveal the secrets of a time period that has been erased from history. My guess is that it has something to do with the world government and how they came in to power with the help of the celestial dragons.

And yeah the way they handled broly was sloppy but I think the idea was that he is so insanely strong and reckless that he was just adapting without any fear for his life or body. He has no inhibitions, it’s just pure rage and instinct.

It was a rule in Commonwealth (Poland + Lithuania) that prevented king from passing a law if one did not agree to it. If you said liberum veto then talks about new tax would be broken and that tax wouldn't pass.
