@nprofile1q... There were multiple reasons, but the main one was that the CZ preset was a better fit for our mesh. EU preset has longer distance and resilient transmission, but the transmission take much longer time, thus everything is slower and the network has considerably lower throughput. As the traffic will grow I think the benefits of our preset will be outweighting benefits of the EU preset. We also wanted to move away from the frequency used by MT in the legal frequency range. There was interference.

It'd be nice to have one unified network, but MC isn't ready to be a continental wide network at the moment. I think scaling it to the national level is what it is ready for ATM.

I apologise to all my followers who aren't interested in #MeshCore for yet another post about #Meshy, but I'm really happy that I've finally added a map view using libshumate.

You can now see all the nodes on the map, and my favourite feature is that it can draw the established path for the chat. There's no need to search for the geographical path of messages in other tools anymore.

It still needs some polishing, but it already does the job.

#Meshy consumes 140 MB on startup, not too bad for a Python app using #GTK 4 and #libadwaita running in Flatpak.
But once you open the emoji picker it jumps to 650 MB with the vulkan renderer. As if it loaded all 3000 UTF emojis into memory at once. With the gl renderer the memory consumption jumps by ~30 MB and then grows as you browse the emojis. Cairo is even better at it, but there is a performance penalty.

Our new water pump for the pool has a mode which measures the maximum water flow rate and then sets a recommended flow rate for the size of the pool. A very basic automation. In the paper manual, it's still called 'Auto Mode'. In the app, it's already called 'AI Mode'.
Yes, apparently even a water pump now deserves #AI.

@nprofile1q... it could be, the Meson config is very barebone. I've focused on building it via flatpak manifest. It's what is part of my debug workflow. I'll take a look at building it outside flatpak, but I spent so much time on it over the weekend that I don't want to see it at least until tomorrow evening. 🙂
If you find time, please file a ticket, so that it's tracked:
