Cuddled up under the kotatsu, Satori sees no reason to leave. Her pets can handle the furnaces of hell, and the oni the city. Sometimes it's more enjoyable just to be a shut in. Though she's often a shut in regardless. Don't think that near her though, she'll get mad.

The days of flash being a purely for fun thing definitely drive a lot of the nostalgia. :cirno_cry: Sadly such a project couldn't ever exist now for an inconceivable amount of reasons, of course the profit incentive being a big one (not that I think anyone really intended for it to become what it did when making it).

@nprofile1q... Flash was a very mixed bag that I feel like I'm mostly partial towards out of partial nostalgia, though I will say there is one aspect of flash that really stood out. Videos weren't static. It added a lot of extra possible flair to what you could do.

Like, oh I don't know, having unique variations up to 100 replays of one video. Or maybe having properly scaling rendering for the entire thing in 4k60fps despite nobody working on the original video ever thinking about such a thing. Fox again, and as per usual she doesn't take no for an answer. All you have to do is accept her as your wife, and everything will be fine. She's already taken over your home and started acting as such. For the fox's manipulation tactics are powerful, and sometimes nothing is more powerful as a manipulation tactic than acting as if an idea were a fact.

Once again those playful girls are flying about the place. More bomb filled snowmen, more pit traps, and more cuteness as they all wear a few different outfits from time to time. It's a wonder Akyuu could dislike such creatures, the fairies are so lively and enjoyable to watch. Even the Hakurei doesn't do more than scold them.

Epic does have a gimmick, throwing money around. Platform is dogshit in every way? Here's some cash back you can spend pretty much only on Fortnite because nobody uses the platform for anything else. Putting a game on the platform causes sales to dip into the trash? Here's half a million to put your game on the platform anyways, enjoy.

Someone said that Epic is supposedly "better for developers" which I could believe only on the backend, the frontend and consumer experience is so bad that developers don't get a single thing from the platform that Tim Sweeney doesn't personally pay for out of pocket. But hey, they at least got gifting on the platform in time for the 2025 Christmas season, somewhere around 8 years since launching the platform. :ina_lownod:

Again though I do really like GOG. I just wish they put more effort into making sure DRM-free didn't just mean installing the game, but everything around it too. Online being blocked if you aren't running off the launcher is a pain and extraneous features like achievements aren't always bad, sometimes even really fun, but GOG doesn't let you have them.

Big props to GOG, this doesn't mean much for linux (most people hearing GOG would probably think it's a weird kink thing instead of a games platform, it'll only appeal to people who already know what GOG is and thus mostly people who already have a partial knowledge and appreciation for linux) but I'm glad to see GOG actually support Linux, it makes the DRM-free ideal seem more possible.

At the same time, still feel the need to shit on GOG for not having launcher features in the standalone installers. I get it, you don't want to encourage piracy. However I don't know if a game can truly be called DRM free if a bunch of features don't work because you didn't install the game using a specific launcher thus handling DRM for those features. I give em this level shit because I like the platform though. I want to see it be better.

@nprofile1q... I'll be honest, of all the tech mods to ever exist, Buildcraft is still my favorite. One of the few tech mods that felt like it integrated neatly with the game since it was so simple yet meaningfully useful. :flan_tired: It's been a long while since those days though.
