So, Creative Commons is pro-slop, apparently they’re in favour of ignoring all copyright and licensing to train LLMs. What’s a better choice? I usually use CC-BY-SA. I’m so tired. #slop #license

Anyone know what’s good for reversing a DOS binary? A debugger in FreeDOS? Ghidra? I want to find out the algorithm for something probably implemented in assembly and I don’t speak x86. I feel like @nprofile1q... might know off hand…

No, recruiter who hasn't actually checked my GitHub, I would not like to join your company's AI hackathon. I'd rather do something useful in my spare time.

Like look at #caturday pictures.

As expected, my laptop (a Framework 16) wasn't able to boot Haiku OS (kernel panic) or Redox OS (black screen after choosing resolution).

Got an older one here I'll try, after I dig up the power adapter.

With the Linux kernel going full-tilt slop, I should see if I can get the stuff I use working on NetBSD.

Or, fuck it, HaikuOS. Be even more niche.

Atari GEM is out as the scene has apparently also been taken over by slop. Pity.

Everything. Is. Stupid. And. I. Hate. It.

I am LAMP?

I feel like nuclear reactors should have a cooler, higher-tech method of generating electricity than "I'm a fancy steam engine."

Feeling really depressed and anxious about my job and career today. Then I watched @nprofile1q... 's talk from Sec-T: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2LAgEQa6wo

Still depressed/anxious, but now with some "fuck it!" in there. 🤦

So what's an alternative to Calibre that lets me organize epubs, edit the metadata, and copy them to my Kobo? I see lots of epub readers, but I almost never read them on my laptop.

I think the Kobo Clara BW just shows up as a USB device, so that might not be a feature I need. Maybe I can just organize them in directories…

Note that I don't want a server of any kind or something that only runs in Docker.

Anyone want to test out small #webgpu page where I'm investigating performance of rendering many points, using regular GPU vs a compute shader? Here: https://aras-p.info/files/temp/webgpu/20250823_we...

@nprofile1q... "Your browser does not support WebGPU." - Firefox 142.0 on an AMD Radeon RX 7700S or AMD Radeon 780M Graphics (not sure which one Firefox is using). ;-)
