some people come of age during a deep depression or excessive inflation, others during a raging bull market or generational prosperity and cheap gas, and each grows older thinking they've learned how to save and invest.

i used to hate las vegas. i still do, but i used to too.

i love animals. had turtles and lizards and snakes when i was little. always been a dog lover, had a dog as a kid. love all the dogs i see.

thought i hated cats because i never had one and was mildly allergic as a kid, but the neighbor's cat visits me now and she's super friendly and now i like cats. (also not allergic anymore)

i still own no pets. no desire either.

you can appreciate things without wanting to own them.
