I also came to voice logging with my local setup. Photos did not sound accurate, typing is tedious as you also said. Nice!

As I am using it as mostly LLM powered (not fine-tuned yet), I can also add random new foods not in the database. Thats basically the coolest part, it learns along the way. I didnt want to build an app first, but a workflow that meets my needs, then I am appifying the parts.

Idea -> llm workflow -> app/automation

Faster to get to useful products for myself. Not bounded by something wrong I did before. Easy to pivot.

Good app idea. Keep up! 🤙

How did you solve the logging of food issue?

I found logging food not that comfortable, and longterm not maintainable, so I made my food tracking done from journaling.

You just write a daily "journal" with words what you ate, can take photos of the products and their nutrition table you ate. Plus it can use the openfoodfacts database for items without a photo.

Works quite nice. As done by AI, it is quite flexible.

AI scan or manual input or voice input - parsed into ingredient list and checked against a govt. food database. If found in DB - get exact caloric and macro values. If not found - show ai estimated
