Agree, to a point. Same thing people are saying with Saylor. Is he really good for bitcoin if he is just teaching everyone that bitcoin is "digital capital" and that he turns bitcoin into money? Do more people know about bitcoin because of him? Yes, he has done great on that front. Is it worth it to have everyone buying wrapped bitcoin in stocks and ignoring all the fundamentals like self-custody? I do not think so. More people know of bitcoin but at that point to no real change. It is empty "progress". Platitudes.

Well said. Plebs will moralize and tell you how you have to act. But they don't pay your bills. And even suggesting they pay for your content or newsletter whatever is a non starter. If you're not ...

Its not moralizing, it is recognizing the compromises. Yes, you want to make money? You have to follow the incentives of the system. The system does not share bitcoin's goal. Remember, separation of money and state? That goal is not achieved by following the state's rules and playing by its rules. That is like trying to vote your way out of tyranny. I was sharing my point of view. He does with his media company whatever he wants.

Man, you have to play the algo game to get views unfortunately. It’s the way the platforms are designed. That’s why I love Nostr, no optimizations just pure thoughts and vibes.

That is what I am saying. Following the incentives and playing the game is falling for the incentives of fiat world and not helping to push the revolution. Remember? Separation of money and state? Following the algo game and gaining short term fiat games while delaying the true purpose of Bitcoin. Just saying, find, use the bait of NGU for the show but where is the bait and switch in the program? Where do you all start talking about how Saylor and Politics is going to pump our bitcoin bags to the moon to then end with importance of self-custody or how bitcoin is actually helping people around the world with the same or more enthusiasm? These days it's all noise and no signal in the daily show. You guys were actually helping to push the message of the revolution at some point. Not so much anymore. Not hating, sharing feedback.

Brother, I run a media company. We live and die by views. YouTube, Rumble, and X are where the views are at. If you don’t optimize for views on those platforms you are toast. We constantly advocate for running your own node and taking self custody in our content. Start a channel and you’...

Bitcoin, not crypto.

Signal, not noise. Please talk about the fundamentals in the show. Every show is now solely focused on covering NGU only and constantly. Feels like fiat incentives are in the driver seat. Yes, NGU is important but there are more important fundamentals, the ones you all used to talk about constantly 3-4 years ago but only mention in platitudes and in fleeting comments.

Softball interview. He is recorded more than 2 dozen times saying Strategy will not sell bitcoin. Disingenuous at best. Let down by the lack of pushback from Natalie just to keep Saylor coming back. She is compromising and that never really turns out fine.

@Lyn Alden Don't know if you have heard the CSAM argument against the filter elimination that is been discussed. Curious to know if this change your mind on the subject?

The v30+ Core update allowing 100k of arbitrary data would essentially permit imagery and low quality video/audio to be uploaded to mempools and mined in a block. This data could be something immoral and illegal, like explicit child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This would effectively turn every node and every node runner into a holder of illegal material and the network itself too, if it ever gets mined. This would eliminate and de-incentivize people from running nodes. Less nodes, less decentralization. One of the fundamental tenants of Bitcoin is destroyed at worst, greatly inhibited at best.

This would give governments a clear and clean line of attack to Bitcoin, one that becomes very difficult to morally and socially defend in the eye of the public. A line of attack that I consider to have the potential to be lethal to Bitcoin.

Interested in your thoughts.

I didn't hear @Guy Swann reading but I read the book a few weeks ago. I have also been thinking how to best position myself and family for this event. We don't have debt aside from our mortgage and a car. I don't have stocks. Only bitcoin. I do have a 401k accumulated before discovering and going all into bitcoin. I am currently struggling with how to handle that 401k. Should I cash it and buy bitcoin? Cash it and make the jump to buy the homesteading property we want? Leave it for future spending for emergency so I don't have to touch bitcoin as a first instance? All hard questions that entail risks and rewards.
