my biggest frustration about politics is how many intelligent minds have been co-opted by the system. we’re meant to be independent thinkers, debating and refining ideas so the best ones rise and move our _shared_ society forward.

instead, we’re loyal to one party based on limited, distorted information meant to serve an agenda that isn’t ours. and hate those who’ve simply been fed something different. i.e, tribalism + mass manipulation.

i wonder what would happen if we turned toward each other to solve problems instead of rejecting those we perceive as being members of the opposing tribe. i bet we’d agree on far more than we realize.

interesting to see how common it has become for people to replace religion with politics to define their moral code, blind to the fact that there is no moral code in the political arena

with any power comes abuse of it. is it possible for that cycle to stop as we look forward?
