The characters are fictional but the Trojan War was real.
I went in with low expectations but it wasn't as bad as the memes implied.

My narcissistic boomer father wants to be catered to and looked after. He semi-retired without a pension at the ripe old age of 55 and then mooched off of me and my brother. We moved out (after paying him rent for years) and went no contact. He's got a paid off suburban house and a part-time government job but whines about being broke and now mooching off of my late mother's brothers.

Two unrelated anime series were amalgamated to meet U.S. syndication requirements for the 65 episode count.

"Voltron was an adaptation of several Japanese anime television series from Toei Company. The original television series aired in syndication from September 10, 1984, to November 18, 1985. The first season of Voltron, featuring the "Lion Force Voltron", was adapted from the series Beast King GoLion. The second season, featuring the "Vehicle Team Voltron", was adapted from the unrelated series Armored Fleet Dairugger XV."

I loved that show as a kid but it’s necessary to distinguish whether you were more a fan of the lions or the cars version.

I watched the Lions version as a kid. Wasn't very memorable.

Watched the Japanese version, Beast King Go Lion, and wow, Voltron was heavily censored. I liked the original so much more; especially the OST.
