Also… why does he only have one picture he uses for everything? His book, profile pics, website… for years, they all use the same picture. Sometimes flipped horizontally, sometimes with laser-eyes added. Is this just laziness? Or something darker.

If I understand correctly it’s all about the relays. Different apps probably have different default relays but if they were all set the same across all your apps, your feed would be the same. (I think).

Just to clarify: I understand that the transmission itself will need to have callsign associated (legally) so the Hamstr server will know it, but will the resulting Nostr post include the callsign?

And is there a band that you’re currently focusing on? Or is the idea to use multiple? Seems to me that in its infancy it may be a good idea to concentrate on one.

This was a great episode and very exciting concept, (despite being very contingent and niche). A couple questions:

1) not sure how it is in the USA but in Canada my callsign leads directly to doxxing me. Is there a “firewall” of sorts between the RF transmission and the resulting Nostr broadcast that ensures the callsign is not included on Nostr?

2) When more servers get going, what band of HF are you planning to use? I’m just setting up some antennas (so far, for listening only, but eventually transmitting too). Whichever band you’re using will inform the next antenna I’m going to set up.

Seems like makeup could be a transaction that can’t be rolled back, once committed once or twice. If I were female, I wouldn’t risk it.

Although it’s a bit ‘normie’, I think #2 is most aesthetically pleasing. #1 second place. And #3 would be better if the crates were half-cropped, making the vineyards more focused.

You can ‘block’ people by being on your own relay that no one else has access to.

Aside from that, I don’t think this is possible because the blocked would need to ‘opt-in’ to their own blockage. Or the Nostr client would need to block the user on your behalf, but would have no effect if the blocked went to a different client.

Sorry. You’re gonna need to just not worry about it and just concern yourself with the things you have control over.
