The Guardian's report on a million women losing aid is heartbreaking, and it exposes a fundamental flaw in traditional charity. It begs the question: are we, Bitcoin Babies, not also dependent on donations?

It's a fair question. And the answer is the core of our mission.

Yes, we are funded by donations. But we don't use them to create dependency. We use them to give new mothers a one-year flystart in their new chapter of life.

Our unique selling point isn't just giving out aid; it's providing education and building a parallel financial system from the ground up. We teach mothers how to use #Bitcoin, connect them with local merchants who accept it, and create a closed loop where value stays and circulates within their community.

The donation isn't the lifeline. The education and the network are. The goal is for this local economy to become self-sustaining, making our initial funding a temporary bootstrap, not a permanent crutch.

That's the difference. The old model builds systems that rely on the outside world. We're building one that helps communities rely on themselves.

Last week, we took attendees from the @btcnairobi_conf & @btcplusplus on a safari through our community. We introduced them to the incredible merchants who are the heartbeat of this ecosystem, shared stories, and explained how a community can thrive on a Bitcoin standard.

The conversations were the real takeaway. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us. It was a pleasure to share our proof-of-work.
