Is Hermeticism a Form of Gnosticism?
The short answer is NO, although the research of both is very educational in my experience. Ultimately Hermeticism is a better choice to follow and embody as a life path. I would recommend it because it's pretty stable, especially after you make up your mind about what you really care about in life.
Gnosticism has many branches and it wouldn't be fair to summarize it as a focus on the Demiurge, although most branches converge to this major issue. Still, there's too much attention given to things beyond our immediate reach. There's no good warning about what you're going to encounter following this choice considering the poor general understanding of the novice. This is why I'm downgrading the entire enterprise until further notice. It's fair to let interested parties know what they're in for.
What I like about Hermeticism is that it's a gradual curve of learning and you can be sure the order of things cannot be bypassed in any way shape or form. Big ELO can't interfere with lower tiers unless huge mistakes are made by the lower one.
