on the one hand, yes
but OTOH, we 1st world rich people need to change how we live

using up enormous amounts of plastic to make a 3D printed typewriter is not good

I am not saying I am any better, or that I know what the answer is; I just know we have to change how we live

also, even if for some reason you "need" a typewriter, this is a pretty crappy one,

In DNA sequencing papers, it is now common to have 10+ authors, and by time the 1st round of reviews come back, those authors are scattered to the 4 winds

and contacting all the coauthors, much less getting them to sign off on changes made to accomadate reviewers, takes a long time

which, I would speculate, accounts for the sometimes *very long time it takes for a paper to get accepted

True story
I, a biochemist, am working with a prof of physics (don't ask)
He takes me to the optics lab and points to a box the size of refridgerator and says

we are going to use that laser
NEVER EVER power it up without turning on the water and checking the water flow on this flowmeter

me: what if hte water stops ?
him: RUN

a few minutes later:
me: do I need eye protection ?
him: no, just don't look at the beam

a few days later, I am setting up an agarose gel, something DNA people do every day, and it uses a DC power supply 100V 0.25 amp

and the physics guy comes up to me, VERY serious, I mean, listen to me please serious, and he says

that power supply is very dangerous, you can easily kill yourself with it
