Microsoft has abandoned the Hololens and I never really took the Apple version seriously, but people underestimate how useful a "transparent" VR/AR headset/glasses are during mechanical work, site inspections, diagnostics, helping hands, etc.

Right now it's simply not "transparent" enough to be relegated to anything but vidya games, but this technology has huge potential; that's why Meta is so invested in the glasses and headsets.

I hadn't looked in a few years, but earlier this week I found a monitor stand that supports ultrawides w/ vertical wings.

Arrives today + a new monitor.

I've been living with a mere two ultrawides (neither is vertical) and splitting the display with my twm. Excited to finally have a vertical monitor(s) again; I prefer that form factor for both programming and web browsing.

That Apple offers security updates for many years post-purchase is the only reason I use an iPhone, but damn they should support devices for longer.

I have an iPhone 13 so I only have another year of guaranteed updates.

I have no reason or desire to get a new phone. Hell, I haven’t even replaced the battery.

But in a years time I’ll be blackmailed into buying a new phone and turning this one into e-waste.

Fuck Apple, Google, Samsung, and all the rest of ‘em.
