I hate the way stories are optimized for the payout rather than the watcher. I still prefer text articles so that I can skip the repetition.

Tried a book that had several chapters written in binary. That may work for printed and ebooks, but for an audio book, that means some poor reader had to spend five minutes per chapter reading out zeros and ones in sets of 8.

Overall, not a great book.

McDonald's cake update:

I stopped by a McD today and asked for cake. The guy behind the counter knew exactly what I meant, but said they don't carry it at that location. He suggested I try a restaurant with a party area or play space, since they are intended for birthday parties.

However, Mostly Former Housemate said he wouldn't eat a cake from McDonald's, and I know I wouldn't, so my research ends until I find someone willing to try a piece.

When Dolly Parton was invited to join the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, she said what everyone else did: she was country, not rock n roll.

But they asked again, so she decided to do a rock album...in 2023. She did a lot of covers, getting many of the original artists to join her.

A week after my son was born, we went to his first baby check. It was a group thing, to be supportive and non-judgemental.

The other moms were amazed I had already left the house without junior, leaving him with his dad. Heck yeah, I did! I just lost a million pounds by giving birth and was going to revel in a walk that didn't waddle.

It never occurred to me that I was supposed to act like a single parent in a two-parent home.

I tried making my own deep dish pizza earlier this week. Of course it took longer than take out, made a huge mess, and cost more than takeout. Also, it tasted kind of bad.

A thin or hand tossed pizza can get away with a mediocre crust, but the crust is a big part of the pan pizza taste. Mine tasted blah and had the consistency of a day old Bojangles biscuit.

Undecided if I'll try again or go with what works.

Spoiler alert: No one is redeemed. It's pretty much a movie length action scene with only one explosion.

Story is the guys who did the choreography were hired for Star Wars fight scenes because everyone heard they were good but no one watched the movie.

The Raid is not a a PG kind of violence.

One of my coworkers has an "urban" name. I have no idea how to pronounce it. After two months, I haven't heard anyone say it, so I discretely asked one of the black guys.
