Another controversial opinion:

People on welfare should be punished for having kids after going on welfare.

Not sure I'm ready to say take away their kids and boot them off the system, but maybe make them take a year of adulting classes if they get pregnant after going on the dole. Classes about parenting and budgeting and learning a skill.

And if they don't attend the class, they go to jail and get their benefits cut.

No more baby factories.

The only ones not covered by #4 are 1 and 8. I don't get the appeal of 8, so definitely 1 and 4.

#4 gives $12M/year, so outpaces 5 within 2 years, even allowing for inflation. Plus, it's a safety net: if you take the lump sum and something goes wrong with your investments, you're done. If you make a mistake with 4, you get more money next month to try again.

The nice thing about the one I bought is that it just screws in, like a regular light bulb. I'm a renter, so I'm not interested in paying for electrical work.

And when I leave, I unscrew the light, put a cheap light bulb in, and I'm ready to light up my next garage.

In honor of JCD, here's a shopping tip:

If you have a garage light that is just one dim light bulb, it's super easy to replace it with a screw-in multi-source LED work light. They aren't pretty, but it's your garage, who cares?

You'll be amazed at the difference it makes.

This piece was stolen from the museum. Sometimes museums license reproductions for sale, but I didn't see any with a casual search. Maybe they are available on French websites or only in the museum gift shop.
