Agru, the plastics experts, have published a new Whitepaper on use of #HDPE in risers for #offshore applications, including #OTEC. The paper is being distributed at the Offshore Technology Conference #Asia in #Malaysia, but we've also received a link to the PDF version. You can download it via:

    "Ocean Energy: Powering the Blue Economy" includes Vice-Chair Dr. Sathiabama Thirugnana from UTM and Chair Dr. Yasuyuki Ikegami of IOES

Yeah, that's probably the best option. I'm already a licensed ham, so I'm at least somewhat connected with the amateur radio community around here. I just need to find somebody either close enough physically or somebody with a high enough tower that I can receive the node signal from them.

Height is might, and height and power is something I don't have access to. I have the height, but I don't have the power.

Maybe find the nearest radio club or amateur radio operator and try to put your node there, with antenna on their aerial tower.

That's currently not possible. I have a small yard, and it's pretty much entirely covered by trees, so I can't put up a solar node outdoors because it will never stay charged because my yard has too much shade. I am toying with the idea that I might be able to get a power over ethernet node set up, ...
