yeah fuck algorithms, relays aren't that bad, and all problems are solvable. Maybe 2k followers over 20 relays on a handfull of RAM will be the norm one day🕺

That is the biggie tbh as it impacts UX so much. Two other things that I think do impact people staying on nostr, with regards to relays are:

1. What's the difference between relays. New users generally don't have a clue which ones are good, necessary to them etc.

2. Adding relays. nobody wants to type in "wss://whatever.stuff" - they want tidy UI, e.g. "this relay is full of cat memes" click Add. Done.

I still see this as a major barrier to entry. Proper normies (I enjoy figuring this shit out) don't want to ever think of relays. I know it's the whole thing of Nostr, but feels like there needs to be a "quick start" or "easy relay switch" button or something to keep things super simple.

android, yakihonne, 140 mbps, 25 ping, 6 relays (just added ditto.pub) - will probably cull it to 4 soon.

not sure how yakihonne optimize (haven't a clue what it is tbh).

the RAM seamed to make sense as to my limited issues.
