Please Mastodon, would it be so difficult to add a button or some kind of more obvious clickable area to select a post that doesn't contain text?

In the below screenshot, I have highlighted the area I need to click to see this @nprofile1q... post.

Surely I can't be the only one who has desperately searched for this space to click?

As much as I am a fan of the idea of Flatpak, and how I believe it's the only practical way for regular users to operate a Linux system, this is not a good UI experience. Which Thunderbird am I supposed to install?

Clicking on them, the two first are from "Thunderbird Project", while the third (as well as Betterbird) are from "MZLA Technologies, part of the Mozilla foundation".

I think the latter is the right one to install, but how would a user not deep into this stuff know what to choose?

Fun fact: when you visit hell, right next to where they keep Hitler and Stalin, there's the pen for people who send you "what's your lowest price" on Marktplaats. #TheMoreYouKnow

@nprofile1q... in Singapore we have something similar called Carousell, which seems to be pretty much the same thing.

In my profile I have clearly stated that I don't engage in haggling, but every. single. time they ask 'what's your best price?' or just outright make an offer at half the listed price. Add to this that I usually sell my stuff really cheap.

Apologies for stealing your soap box, but this is an important topic.

Inspired by the call by @nprofile1q... for posts about things we do, here's a little update on my project.

Part of my goal with Kap is to make it into something different from just a programming language. I like making the comparison to Excel which by all definitions is a programming language, but it's also a system with which the user works with and presents data.

I already built a spreadsheet-like tool to edit data, but I haven't done much in the way of presenting information. I'm now working on a simple way to define forms, which can be rendered as a native UI, using HTML or even in a terminal. Once I've gotten further, I'll share a screencast, but for now, here's a screenshot.

Youtube ads

I've disabled as much ad tracking as possible on ny youtube account, and by doing so I get to see some of the mpst sloppy generic youtube ads.

I just saw one that started: "every story ends, but not this one". Apparently for some shitty mobile game. I turned it off after that, but that quote was truly slop.

There's a lot of these mobilr game ads: "your high school was hit by a comet and all yout classmates are turned into zombies. What do you want to be?"

Lots of investment ads as well. A computer voice saying "the AI supply chain is booming". What does thar even mean?

OMG, I might buy a Cupra Raval soon. Electric car, physical buttons! Saw it in person on Saturday at a local dealership, just got a great offer on my custom configuration. Test drive scheduled for Ju...

@nprofile1q... nice. I'm driving a rental Polestar 3 right now worth no physical buttons and it's the worst car I've ever driven. Not just bevvies of the buttons, but the over reliance on technology really makes for a terrible driving experience.

I'm glad to see there are new cars out there that preserve some sanity.
