I mean, it's more or less a matter of how extensively you configure your phone with @GrapheneOS. I use several sandboxed profilesβ€”in doing so, yes, it is tedious to use, and you lose in comfort and speed, but in the end, it is your decision on how to handle it. The one and only problem I have is with my banking application: I can't really install it, so I have to use a second phone just for that. πŸ˜…

You dont need another phone if you can use the bank website in the browser or web app if they support it. Depends on the ban though.

Yes, i was also recently buying a model that at least has no mandatory eSIM on board, i was able to simply remove the sim-card that was sending all my data abroad. Tinkering with newer models (according to several forums) is really hard, it is basically not possible to strip away camera/sensors etc without ruining the car. Removing eSIM is also not possible, i think.

I was never thinking about cars & privacy in detail. You helped me a lot in doing that for my setup at home, thanks for that! 😁

But it makes no sense, doing all the effort for your pc/smartphone whilst getting spied in your car πŸ˜… Tough times.
