I never realized, when I retired, how much I'd miss my work spouse. Decades of shenanigans, inside jokes, and shared trauma — that means something. 30 yrs ago, he sat across from me in teachers college and today, he sat across from me on a patio and we laughed and laughed. Hold on to your people. ❤️

Well. That's it. Every day is now just going to get shorter. The night will slowly take over again. It's almost winter.

Still talking about the census and the questions about identity and how it helps policy makers when we disclose our identities but it could be dangerous too. Kiddo says, "I bet the US census shows the population is 100% straight white males — because those are the only people who are safe there." 🤔

My dear sweet father-in-law passed away this morning. Henry "Bill" Bishop was 94. As a child in the 1930s, he decided it was way cooler to go by the name Billy Bishop than Henry, but he was pleased as punch when we named his only grandson after him. Old Henry and Young Henry were great pals. 1/8

My husband is the classic absent-minded professor and an old-school dad. So he is not very involved in day-to-day parenting. But he SHINES when it comes to loose teeth. All three kids have relied on him to pull their wiggly teeth over the years. I am so grateful for this, because I CANNOT DO IT. 🤢
