When I find a piece of beautiful clothing in thrift stores that's hard to find but doesn't fit me, but I want to have it just to have it, I always tell myself "dont be greedy, somebody else can use it much better".

So greed is keeping something (or even someone) to oneself because you can, even though it'd be somewhat or very wasteful while someone else can utilize that thing much better.
