I recently coded an ereader web app. All book highlights and notes are replaceable events. Book “announcements” are also nostr notes with hash of the book and cover image. They all link together. The big ah ha for me was to use nostr notes as a database. Not sure if that’s a good idea if relays treat notes as ephemeral. Everyone needs a personal relay for assurance of their data 🤷♂️
You can browse the bookshelves of others… even download the book from blossom servers or just read people’s highlights.
