Crazy anti-tax libertarians in the 60s and 70s eviscerated the ability of governments to raise funds and what funds they can cobble together are usually very tightly tied to very specific projects. To make matters worse, even if an idea is popular it usually takes a super majority to increase taxes. So instead, we sit in traffic.

@nprofile1q... i’ve spent my entire life in the South Bay and have watched the traffic turn impossible. By accident ended up living near my office, but I see the toll that it takes on my family and coworkers.

The huge insanity of it is that there is no reason for everything to be here. These corporations could easily spread out their operations. They are tech companies, making the network tech tools, supposedly. But every VIP wants to make sure his division is in the holy land.
