@nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... #BikeNite Hi from New Mexico. Where water is actually falling from the sky!

A2 I wear padded bike shorts if I'm expecting a longer than usual ride, or if I haven't been riding in a while. Also, on a day when I happen to be wearing clothing unsuitable for biking so I need to change for the ride anyway, I'll often go for the bike shorts. I seldom wear them under anything else, but I do have bike-specific legwarmers that I might wear in addition, in changeable weather.

Couldn't help being amused by the sign at the beginning of the Walatoa Red Rocks trail. (I don't think the 1.5 miles includes the slot canyon at the end.)

@nprofile1q... I'm suspicious too. I know LWVNM isn't collecting addresses from Vote411, but I can't guarantee LWVUS or the company that produces the Vote411 software for them. That's why I like to suggest alternatives, even though only a small minority of us care.

I'd hate to see someone not using voter information tools over concerns that can be easily addressed.

@nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... The gap in the data is because the ESP32 periodically gets lost and stops being able to talk to the net, and sometimes it takes me a while to notice and unplug/replug. I haven't yet figured out how to get it to reset itself.

We don't have a gas stove, so nothing to report along those lines. I have read elsewhere that gas stoves give higher particle counts than fireplaces, and it sounds like that's true from Alison's experience.

@nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... Last night we had a fire starting at 20:00. I started recording at 18:30.

The sensor gives "particles", "standard" and "env" for various sizes. I can't find anything written about what these numbers actually are or what the units are, though "particles" are apparently per 0.1L of air. The "env" numbers are almost all zero, for all sizes. The "particles" show a modest spike around when we started the fire, and a bigger spike around when we stopped burning.

#Chipmunk! We rarely see chipmunks at the house (they prefer to hang out closer to the canyon edge, alas) so it's always fun to see one. This one made a vertical leap of about four feet up to the fence, then another 2.5-3 feet to the peanut feeder, successfully extracting a peanut. Now it's hanging out at the platform feeder eating birdseed. I hope it stays a while.

@nprofile1q... We had a fire last night. I only had a couple minutes before the fire started to collect a baseline, but the numbers after the fire started weren't much higher than the baseline. So I think Dave may have been right, most of the smoke goes up the chimney. I'm working on code to plot results, and will also run a baseline today (plus maybe another fire tonight, depending on weather); will be posting more quantitative updates when I've had time to do a little more analysis.
