Coming through the north - after hours of dust and heat without a single drop of water (we basically survived on energy drinks), it’s hard to believe that this place suddenly reveals deep blue lakes in the middle of nowhere.
At over 3,000 meters we’re standing on a high cliff, staring at this breathtaking view in Afghanistan's Band-e-Amir National Park.

Marsur Rock - Pakistan's Trolltunga

This is a very special place in the northeast of Pakistan. Just a few minutes from Skardu you’ll find one of the most spectacular spots in all of Baltistan: Marsur Rock. A narrow cliff ledge that hangs over the valley like a balcony – with views of the Indus River, the Sarfaranga Desert and the surrounding mountains.

The trail is insanely steep: 1,000 meters (3300 ft) of elevation over just 3 km (9800 ft) – but the effort is absolutely worth it. At the top you reach the iconic rock ledge that’s rightly known as Pakistan’s Trolltunga. Perfect for photos, but definitely pretty exposed. As you can see, Tobi was super relaxed – while I was pretty much about to pee my pants.

Corona del Inca is a remote crater in the La Rioja region in Argentina. You have to follow a sandy offroad track up to an altitude of almost 5400m (17700ft).
It's an unusual place with bizarre ice formations and beautiful dunes. An absolute stunning place in the middle of nowhere.

The islands around Semporna in Borneo Malaysis are really beautiful, what is kind of surprising, because Semporna itself is one of the ugliest and dirtiest cities we‘ve ever seen.
Even on the way to the islands, we had to stop the boat, cause the propeller of the engine was stuck in garbage.
However, as soon as you lrave the bay, it becomes an abdolute pstadise. Especially for diving.

Over the Shandur Pass, at the roof of the world

The Shandur Pass in Pakistan connects Chitral with Gilgit-Baltistan and is home to the legendary Shandur Polo Festival, held on the highest polo ground on earth at around 3,700 meters.
Here, freestyle polo is played — raw, fast, and with very few rules 😃

Unfortunately, we weren’t here in July when the festival takes place, but at a time when the pass was almost completely deserted. We rode for hours without meeting anyone, except the soldiers at the military checkpoint.

Just after the pass lies the famous Shandur Lake.
It is often so windless that the surrounding mountains are perfectly reflected in the water — like a natural mirror, completely surreal.
