But the legislation will be tricky. Because exactly what causes a problem in Amsterdam - no discipline and criteria for taxi drivers - is exactly what is the solution elsewhere in the country: those sweet volunteer/underpaid taxi drivers in the countryside who drive taxis to bring special needs kids to their specialised schools in the morning. Do something else during the day and drive them home during rush hour in the evening. With stressed parents eager to complain...
Some kind of complicated, perhaps incoherent, legislation is needed. Which might not survive a legal challenge by companies like Uber...
