On August 31, 1957, Malaya declared independence from the British Empire. Today, we Malaysians celebrate the 67th anniversary of Merdeka Day! Thank God for His blessings upon Malaysia, a land rich in diversity and promise.

Pray for unity and peace, that this land may flourish and prosper. Peace and prosperity for all is the tangible presence of hope God promises all who will trust in Him. As the city prospers, so do God’s people. When we seek the welfare of others, even those who may not wish us well, we align ourselves with God’s redemptive purposes. We become instruments of His peace, conduits of His love, and bearers of His hope.

Jeremiah 29:7 reminds us: “Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” May we be a people who continually seek the welfare of our nation, trusting that in its prosperity, we too will find our blessing.
